This Cookie Policy explains how Opsis ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on heyopsis.com, and the choices you have. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide reporting information. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are called "first-party cookies"; cookies set by other parties are "third-party cookies". Third-party cookies enable third-party features (such as analytics) to be provided on the site.
2. The cookies we use
We group the cookies Opsis may set into three categories. You can control the optional ones at any time from the cookie banner, the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer, or your browser settings (see section 6).
2.1 Essential cookies (always on)
These are strictly necessary for the site to function and cannot be switched off. They are usually only set in response to actions you take — signing in, maintaining your session — and are required for the service to work.

2.2 Performance cookies (optional)
These let us measure how visitors use the public marketing site — which pages are most popular, where people arrive from, whether an error page is being hit — so we can improve the product. They are pseudonymized and on public pages only. We never run them on the authenticated dashboard, where URLs carry project and finding identifiers.

Performance cookies are off by default. They load only after you click "Accept all" or enable "Performance" in the cookie preferences modal. If you reject them, no GA4 script loads and no page_view event is sent.
2.3 Marketing cookies (optional)
These would be used to display advertising that is more relevant to you and your interests, and to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. Opsis does not set any marketing cookies today. The category exists so that if we add a retargeting or ad-measurement pixel in the future, it will be gated by exactly the same consent record — and will only ever fire if you have opted in to it here.
3. How we use cookies
- Recognize you and keep you signed in (essential).
- Understand how the public site is used so we can improve content and fix broken pages (performance, optional).
- Remember your cookie preference so we don't show you the banner every visit (stored in localStorage, not a cookie).
4. Third-party cookies
The only third-party service that may set cookies on the public site is Google Analytics 4, and only when you have opted in to performance cookies. Google's use of promotional cookies is governed by its own advertising cookies policy and privacy policy. We configure GA4 with IP anonymization and disable advertising features.
5. Your cookie choices
You have several ways to manage cookies:
- The cookie banner: on your first visit, choose "Accept all", "Reject all", or "Preferences" to pick categories.
- The "Cookie preferences" link in the footer: re-opens the preferences modal so you can change your mind at any time.
- Your browser settings: you can block or delete cookies through your browser's controls. Essential cookies cannot be blocked without breaking sign-in and core site features.
Note that blocking all cookies will prevent you from staying signed in and may make parts of the dashboard unavailable.
6. Changes to this policy
If we add, change, or remove a cookie, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. If we introduce a materially new category of cookie, we will re-prompt for consent.
